Self Blue (Lavender) Silkie Thread

i recently picked up my order of chicks from the post office and all where healthy, i was very relieved that they had all survived the trip. pluse i got an extra silkie whick i guess they put in there as a backup in case one of the others died. here are a few pics of my blues.

i ordered 26 or so of them from Murray McMurray. They all survived the trip and i was surprised to find an extra one in the box with them. i also have a few buff colored as well.

this is a pic of a white leghorn next to one of the buff silkie chicks. they are so small next to the leghorns and the rhode island reds haha. but the silkies are separated from the other chicks i ordered for their own safety of course.

OK here are a few close ups of my boy. Hope you guys don't get sick of seeing him. These are all without the flash - do you guys think his comb is dark enough?

He is almost to the point now that he poses for me. Ha! Ha! Ha!

I cut off his feet in this shot, but it is one of my favorites for some reason.

His feet don't photograph very well but they are pretty good I think. I need to get closer to the ground with the camera I think - the squatting angle that I am in makes them appear smaller than they really are. This chicken photography can be tricky.

Yes, I cut off his head in this one and I rarely get a shot of his ear, but you can see it is a nice neon blue! Most of the time when I go to take pictures of him he likes to flap and shake so sometimes his wings look all akimbo, but "normally" he carries them pretty tight for a boy.

He is really a very nice boy! His comb looks fine to me. It's certainly not red. May a tad pale but nothing to worry about. He could use more foot feathering but his type and wings are so nice! I notice he has quite a few fret marks. My guy does also. I'm wondering if all the boys have them...
