No. Unless the splash hen carries lavender, it will be regular blue, but carry the lavender gene. If you did get a bird with two copies of lavender and it was a blue or splash, it would be closer to white or light gray.

My exxperience says that it will look more like blue than like lavender, It will not be excessively diluted. They can be very difficult to tell apart.
Sorry about your chicks. Who are you getting your self blues from if you don't mind me asking. I had 5 chicks shipped last year from Geri Godina and absolutely love them! I've got my pair that I narrowed down and kept, the three others went to new homes. I didn't know you could get self blues from Ideal Poultry, I'll have to look into those.I just received some chicks shipped from Ideal Poultry. Sadly, quite a few didn't make it. I ordered 7 self-blue (plus 25 assorted) and only 3 of the surviving chicks are self-blue. The spot on their heads was put there to identify the self-blue from the others. I'm just sick about how many didn't make it. They will reimburse me, but that's not the point. Still, I'm trying to focus on the ones that did make it.I also have a breeding pair of self-blue that will ship out Monday from a private breeder that's been raising self-blue silkies for about three years. It's the girl in the front and the roo standing tall on the right. I can't wait to get them!

Lavender has always been self-blue in the standards.Lavenders are considered "self blue" and porcelains are now "blue cream"? I admit I am getting confused.
More poor Lavender pair is lost!?!?!![]()
They should be here this morning. I called the post office b/c they hadn't called me yet and they don't have them. The post master doesn't come in until 7:30 then he will "try to track them down". But with the wind chill it's -13 out there. If they are on the wrong truck they could.... I can't say it....where or where are my sweet lavenders?![]()
