I put 18 in the bator and fixing to put 12 more in. I think I'll auction off the next batch.

Hello Lavender Lovers!

Today is hatching day for us... we've already had two little lavenders pop out already!

Anyhoo, we wanted to stop by real quick and say... what a great thread!

We are looking forward to hearing more about your lovely lavenders and sharing about of ours.

Our farm is interested in the genetics of breeding better lavenders.

We would love to hear more about what you guys plan on doing to improve these sweet little guys!

Has anyone started a down analogy like the bantam millie cochin thread?

I think that this would be a great thing to start tracking with these guys to see were we are... and where we are going.

Can’t wait to learn more in this thread!

I'm wondering if anyone here hatches all winter long?

I've just started to add and increase the light in my hen house hoping to encourage them to lay and keep them laying.
I've got an outdoor Christmas light timer to go on at dusk and turn off in 2-4-6 hours. I'm starting at 2 hours and will increase it as the days get shorter.
I hatched inside February/March and I could not wait to get those littler buggers outside in May.
I must be crazy for even considering chicks in the house over the holidays and winter but....maybe the basement this time instead of the dining room. That little chick dust was everywhere...I even had to wash the wallpaper.

Will anyone else be hatching this fall/winter?

I am actually thinking I have a hatching egg disorder of some kind!! I keep telling myself ok this is the last batch
but I just can't seem to put them in the frig instead!! LOL!!
