My best advice is to spend some time comparing the ones you have in color take a sharpie or a teeny tiny zip tie and mark the ones that you think *may* be your lavender by comparing the colors and looking for the ones that seem to be different. Then just sit back and wait as they feather out.
Or else go the other route group together the ones you know are splashes and the ones you know are blues then pick from what is left your best guess. Just mark them in some way so you know which ones to keep an eye on. Eventually they will feather out more and more and I think you'll be able to see more of a difference. GL!

Okay I found a "splash" with a couple of pink toes so maybe thats my MIA Lav..as mom has some pink spots on her feet...I cant beleive i forgot to watch for it...ack...on the otherhand i do have a pile of nice chicks so if anyone needs some to add to their collection i will have some to spare in the near future...i forgot about the sharpie marks I will do that on my next batch of whites and splashes...thanks for the tip

Dumb question alert.

When a silkie is moulting, do the feathers pretty much come out very quickly? My lavender hen "shook" and it was like a feather pillow exploding.

Is that normal? It was seriously almost cartoonish.

Many blue and splash chicks...and occasionally blacks....will hatch with a pink toe or two. Mine always melanize in and turn black within 3-4 weeks, although I understand from some breeders that they can take up to a couple of months.
