Self filling water bucket.

I added a toilet fill valve to a bucket, then connected it to a hose with a timer to come ON every couple of days to refill. It fills with approx. 3 gallons of water. Every few weeks or when needed, I just disconnect the water hose and clean out the bucket.

They actually sell floats for cattle tanks, your idea is pretty smart.

That would freeze, and is only good in warmer climates unfortunately, or during summer.

I’m in Southern California where it doesn’t get freezing cold. I would think that this could freeze since its all plastic.

Good to know about that, I had no clue. I have 9 chickens and this is perfect. But good to know if I need a higher water capacity. Thanks!
