You're a genius.

Come on over here and build me one, wouldya? I'm carrying a few extra polar-bear-winter-pounds....

Well lets see, I am walking on the treadmill, chatting on BYC, watching animal planet, listening to itunes, & typing in a work file. I dunno, I think if I added gum it may be a little dangerous. I would probably end up splat against the wall behind me covered in paperwork. I am blonde afterall,and sometimes you just don't want to push it.

That is great! I have been thinking about getting a tread desk for awhile...

I have heard the biggest concern is a treadmill that will go really slowly for a long time.

Have you had any problems with the treadmill going so slowly? Like is the motor wearing out or anything?

Wow I can't believe you did this but what a great idea.

@emryst welcome to BYC

Welcome to BYC Emryst! I have had this treadmill for about 4 years and have never really gone fast on it. The fastest I have ever used it is a 15 minute mile but mostly have set it at a 20 minute mile if I'm just watching TV or if I'm working on the computer I slow it down to a 40 minute mile. The treadmill is called a Healthrider. I bought it from the local Sam's Club for under $1,000. The only problem I had with it so far is when I had a power surge it blew the fuse. I should have had it plugged into a surge protector. The fuse is an odd size & I had to order a new one from somewhere overseas. Hope that helps with your question.

***Update*** After assembling my treadmill Desk in April, I have been faithfully using it almost everyday. I bought a pair of the butt toning gym shoes to wear while I walked too.

As of today I have lost a total of 21lbs. I can fit in clothes I haven't worn in years and feel so much better about myself. This thing works! I spend between 1-3 hours working on it a day and difference is amazing. My stomache is getting flatter and my SO says my butt has all but disappeared.

Giving myself a huge pat on the back for my success. Just had to share.

Good for you!
I am doing the 17-day-diet and I have lost 18 pounds in about 2 months. I had a hard time getting back on it for awhile, but just started again yesterday (and lost almost 3 pounds! ) Doesn't it feel good?!!!

Babymakes6, it feels great and with success like this it helps you to stick with it. Good luck with with getting back on track too! It's hard in the summer.

My husband needs to rig my exercise bike to power my computer............ when you stop pedaling it shuts down..................... I'd be pedaling like mad...
