But still, your taxes do not pay my salary.

Sooooooo.....do magical fairies make the paychecks not bounce? Does the post office write IOU's to the government? Where does the government get the money to front the PO money to write paychecks when there is no money? Oh yeah...the taxpayers.

Bottom line is..the lady was at work..its NOT her place to run her mouth and give her personal opinions about things to a customer while on the clock....

If i was you..I'D have gone postal..never mind her...

Taxpayers do not pay the salaries of anyone in the USPS. It is the only government entity that is completely self-sufficient. The USPS pays the salaries of its employees by the stamps and services it sells.

The clerk was unprofessional and should have kept her lips pursed. Unfortunately, some people are simply too stupid for their own good.

I would NOT call the postmaster. There is such a thing as the good 'ol boy system. Instead, call the USPS at 1-800-ASK-USPS. There will be an inquiry from the USPS at a national level. If you call the postmaster, your complaint may simply be swept under the table. I seriously doubt anything will be done about that clerk. Perhaps if there is a pattern of abuse or disrespect of customers, she may be given a letter of warning or even be fired. At least this way, the USPS has a record of the incident.

Wow, great idea!

I would have talked to the Postmaster (in person will get you a better follow through). There is no way they are going to fire her. It takes A LOT to get fired from USPS (you wouldn't believe some of the things I hear through my dh, it has to be REALLY bad). She might get a written warning, but she deserves it-enough warnings and she might get transferred (prob not fired)!

I can't stand rude people- they bring out the worst of me!

And taxpayers don't pay PO salaries- unless you buy a stamp (look it up, its true)

My husband is a mail carrier and loves to assist w/ Baby chick deliveries. He agrees that being a postal clerk does not give her a right to spray her opinion about. The postal service needs to do everything it can to keep customers so they can keep their jobs and we can have service 6 days a week. Make the call to the master!! Glad the chicks are okay.

wow. I guess I would have just respected her feelings about the whole ordeal and asked for another clerk to deal with my order.
Afterall, why on earth would I or her employer force her to be a part of something so inhumane.

WOW!

Many companies can operate in the red due to continued cash flows that exist despite losses. You are simply trolling and have absolutely nothing useful to contribute to the topic. I'm done arguing with you because you are either too lazy or too stupid to get your facts straight. Either way...have a great day.

I believe they've gotten assistance at times from Congress, but it's not a constant thing, hasen't been for years... it takes special circumstances, BUT.

I'll bet everyone wants...

A) Cost to stay low. (much lower than almost any other country BTW)
B) Daily delivery 6 days a week no matter what. (again, more than is to be expected in almost any other country)
C) Speedy delivery too. (again, most other country's citizens are amazed we get mail from A to B in a day in many cases)

No, I don't work for the Post Office, but you know that saying, love it or leave it? I've left it while serving in the military. I have lived in other countries, and enjoyed good things about most of them... (not fond of the really sandy ones maybe) still, I'm always glad to get home because it's a fantastic place to be.

Are you some kind of commie? Seriously, thanks for saying this. You'll find that some of the most intolerant people anywhere post on this site.

I am concerned about electronic forums where many people obtain much of their view forming ideas. The growth of this forum coupled with the apparent anger directed at "you name it for the day", a postal worker today, that is characterizing many of the threads is cause to ponder.
