Selling Eggs? Bad day rant..

We take our brown eggs into the local feedstore and they take it off our feed bill. It's a nice exchange. Except we have to keep the green/blue eggs. Some local customer said that the green eggs taste "tangy" and they don't like them. So brown eggs only.

I can't wait until we get to the point where we have enough to sell! However, I work for the county transit agency and if you want to see wacko's, come ride our buses.

I just sell mine assorted......about 15 dozen a week.........take it or leave it. I have ppl wanting me to start an order list.....so they are sure to get them

My Secret??

16% layer feed, grass clippings, yogurt and oatmeal.

Oh..and various leftovers.

BUT.......they all prefer BROWN EGGS.

I mix them up.

I decided it wasn't worth the aggravation. I do trade eggs for things like honey and vegetables but that's because anyone who has something to trade knows better than to behave like that. I would no more question my neighbors' ability to harvest honey from their hives than they would question me about what I feed my hens.

Any time you work with the public, you are going to get some oddballs. Comes with the territory, I'm afraid. DH is a tattoo artist and has met some real nut-balls over the years.

i know a few of my neighbors found it amazing that my chickens would drink alittle budweiser now and then when i dump alittle on the ground....they hear a can crack and they come running...all my neighbors love getting the fresh eggs and i have had no compaints on taste what so ever.

Don't you know white eggs are bleached at the store?

Or that brown eggs from the farm are rooster eggs?
