Separating a quail cockerel (?)

My boy quail is five weeks old so I didnt know if I should call it a cockerel or a rooster, but anyway, my full grown rooster has been picking on him. At first I squirted the rooster with a squirt bottle when the little one started to go bald. Then, I put some "rooster booster pick no more" ointment on his head, and it works for about an hour till it dries. Now he has a big scab on his head it was bleeding this morning, so I separated him inside the cage so he isnt lonely. Is this a good setup until he heals? And what can I do to make my other rooster stop picking on him? The white Italian is the offender.

This is a good setup until he heals, but if the quail roos are fighting, they're not going to stop. You're probably going to have to get rid of one of them.
