Seperated feed help

Morning,

I asked this question a short time ago and the general feeling is to give them all grower feed with crushed oyster set out all the time for the older girls to eat as desired. My birds are 8 months and 3 months. The older girls are laying but not the younger ones yet. Once they are all laying, I'll probably put them all on the layer feed since I already have quite a bit of that.

Hope this helps.

NorthFL pretty well covered it.
For the most part if I've ever put out two types of feed, they all went for the starter feed. My point is that you can't separate them unless they're in a different pen. If you are feeding a grower and have active layers, make sure there is plenty of oyster shell or other calcium source always available. I keep a container next to the feeders and another next to the nests. They eventually rely on having the shell at a specific location and will seek it out when the egg enters the shell gland.
