A lot of times with shipped eggs you will get misshapen air sacks. That doesn't mean they won't hatch! Just keep turning and see what you get.

I still have 7 of my OEG swap eggs that are doing great. Actually two of those I can't see an air sack in any more and they should have at least a week left to go, so I don't know what is up with that but I am sure I will get several to hatch anyway.

I would just leave them. I have found that after awhile if you don't know exactly what you are looking at you will miss seeing the veins.

today is lock-down day. my fifty eggs and the recent swap eggs look fine. my swap eggs are from Ohio. the eggs i sent (Alabama)out should also be ready. my camera is ready for the hatch on Monday.

I am reading this thread and will decide is I can get ready for this swap. I am going to be out of town for 8 days this month and need to see if I will have enough eggs to send....so I'm lurking for now.

You need to lurk on the October swap thread, that's the new one for this month

You have until the 10th to sign-up, then until the 26th to send your eggs. I might be able to have your swap partner 'hold off' on sending your eggs till when you are home, what dates will you be gone?

Perhaps I will have to wait on a swap since it looks like everyone wants "pure" breeds and not any crosses. I'm looking at purchasing some matched trios.

Right now, I have Aussie, Delaware, EE and New Hampshire hens and my roos are Buff Orp, Black Cochin, and Aussie. I have a batch of eggs in the bator right now...so the chicks come out late Oct.

I'll be out of town from October 11 - Oct 18.

my daughter just woke me up to tell me the babies are hatching. i can see that ten have hatched. my september egg swap is a success! will take pictures in the late afternoon. unfortunately i have a lot of errands today

Wow, that's wonderful, Sfoelee! Ten hatched out of how many eggs? I wish I had that good of luck on shipped eggs....I've never gotten better than 50% hatch

What kind of incubator do you use?
