actually i have fifty of my own and two dozen from the swap. i used two different egg cartons and am only counting those broken egg shells on the incubator's right. oh i guess i forgot to say that i have quail eggs. i have a simple hovabator with quail turner. i use the dry method and use rocks in the water channels to preserve the heat. sorry for any confusion as i making breakfast and writing too.
I candled my swap eggs today! First time at day 10!
My swap partner did a FANTASTIC job shipping, etc. Out of 14 eggs, a whopping 12 are developing with fantastic veins and most were swimming.
This was a batch of OEGB, White Frizzle, and something else (the eggs were labeled).
I am SO excited!!!
And I put a batch of Mille Fleur D'Uccles from the egg chain (from Fancy Feet) into lockdown tonight. 4 eggs to lockdown and hoping for some sweet little D'Uccle chicks
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention for my swap partner that the two eggs that are not developing are blood rings/early death, which means every single egg you sent was fertile and made the shipping in good enough shape to at least begin developing....So two thumbs up to you, you did a great job!!! Thanks
Looking forward to lots of cuties in 11 more days (or do OEGBs hatch at day 19??? Anybody know? I can't seem to get a straight answer on the bantam/hatching early issue)
