Well see, I am working on a new pen but the Welsummers have to go in that and then the Spitzhauben have to go in the Welsummer pen and nothing can go in where the Spitz have been because they are in the greenhouse and eventually some plants have to go back in there and there is also 3 quail pens and the bantam cochin in there as well...so you see why I hesitate. The brooder on the table is full, the outside brooder is full, a tub with a light has the 3 ducklings in it and the brooder in the closet is fixing to have the chicks that are hatching tonight in it...need I say more? LOL

Well, I plan to 'only' run the next one, and not participate. I have 2 bators full of eggs, a brooder with 26 LF 2 week olds in the house, another brooder with 10 guinea keets and 8 or so bantam chicks, also in the house, and a big brooder on the porch with 2 guineas and some 'older' chicks (that shouldn't be in a brooder, but I have no where to put them right now!). Plus I really have got to decide if I'm making a 'breeder house' for my chickens, or individual tractors

I like the idea of a 'house' for the warmth factor (50 or so birds for body heat, as opposed to 3 or 4), but don't like the idea of having a huge area fenced off for them in the yard. But I was thinking I could combine the two, and have tractors for their 'free ranging' time, then everyone in the house at night? I don't know, but I surely don't need to be hatching right now! Oh yeah, and I forgot that a friend of mine has like 3 dozen of my eggs in her bator, since my old one is full, and my new one isn't here yet. I think I need to stop!

No Shelley, don't stop! Didn't you know the way to get rid of the hatching addiction is to keep hatching more and more birds until it goes away? (ummm....at least that's what I keep telling the hubby! Lol

I can't handle the dust, baby chicks make me sick (literally!) At least in the summer, I can spend a lot of time outside, in the winter it gets pretty bad. I have gotten bronchitis from them before, not pretty! I really need to stop! Oh, did I mention that I have another 25 chicks on order for the 7th of October? So yeah, I really don't need to hatch anything else!
