***SEPTEMBER HATCH-A-LONG come join in***

I have 3 chicks in the bator almost completely fluffy and it's only day 20. Now I want so bad to open it and take them out, but there are still 3 eggs pipped and waiting. I have to sit on my hands one more night!

So if no others hatch, will a stuffed animal be enough company for my chick? Well and us once it has a couple more days under its belt?

Also if I put these in at 3:30 pm on 9-3 then on which day would I know for sure an egg is not going to hatch? I don't want to be throwing any babies out by accident. I am thinking of giving up on any unhatched eggs by sunday. Safe bet?

Got home from work to find one chick completely hatched.

I open the bator so much and the eggs still hatch. I just don't have it open for more than a few seconds. Long enough to reach in and grab a chick. I usually get them out and in the brooder with food and water if they want it. Some go right for it some don't. I haven't had a problem.

And here's another pic of the one that hatched today. Still waiting for it's clutch mates to hatch.

I have 24 partridge silkies and around 18 sizzles due to hatch the the same day. I am already hovering around the bators checking temps, etc a zillion times a day. It's going to be a looong week and a half when I'm already this impatient
