September Hatch-A-Long!

Try comparing the combs. Maybe you have a Dominique in there!

I think I will! Good idea, thanks

If I'm worried I just open the bator for a sec. You can also slide some foil over part to lower humidity - its surface area not water qty that matters.

The rice didn't work but the foil did! We are at 76% humidity, on day 20. I have seen no signs of hatching though. No peeps, no rocking, no pips. I have my fingers crossed though, and its still only day 20.

Thought i'd killed them for sure but nope i candled them to be sure and all 5 are still moving around inside. Phew!

Whilst i was candling them i noticed the air sac has gotta larger in the past 24 hours? Like the same amount it grew from day 14 til day 18? Is that normal?

Humidity is currently at 77%. Do you think that's too high?

15 to 20% higher than you incubated...it's not TOO high

I'm on Day 19!!! :) Have one definite growing out of 12. :( Wish I could have had more. I have another that I think is growing and a few "possibles". I have them hatching in the carton but I really wanted to see them rock and roll! Do you think I could quickly open the bator, lay them all down, then hatch them that way?

yes! they'll be fine....but warning....you'll have to be standing next to the incubator watching it to witness the movement!! yet another obsessive behavior of hatching addiction!!

I've been looking through the ebay hatching egg adds!! I'm not suppose to be hatching anymore this year but I find myself yearning for more!!

I did have someone order guineas so I put some in the bator...then a few days later called and decided to buy eggs instead...so I am hatching...he's suppose to pick up 2 dozen eggs next week wouldn't you know my guineas went on a laying hiatus.

I lost one of my loan sex links chicks about a week ago....so I've snuck about 6 eggs from her in with the guineas
