September Hatch-A-Long!

I hope not! They're scrapy lol. Asking for trouble if they're so delicate

Huh, I have always heard they were the weakest chicken-delicate and die very easily. Hmmm...I will have to have a talk with some of my friends...LOL

agreed. There is nothing delicate about my sebrights. They are noisy, energetic, curious and scrappy

Well, that proves wrong almost everything I have heard about Sebrights. :)

Does anybody have advice on how to candle blue eggs? I've never had an egg this hard to see in to... it's 5 days old today and I can't even see faint shadows.

Lol that's OK

:) At least I knew the males are hen-feathered :)

Umm, well at 5 days an embryo may be hard to identify, I have the same trouble with brown eggs. I would have someone take a pic. while you are candeling it, then candle it at day 10, then compare... Perhaps this will help :)

my other 16 serama eggs went into the bator yesterday and so they should hatch about the 15th. the other 22 hatch the 13th so i'm going to be very busy when they all decide to hatch

also you know you have a hatching addicition when your egg turner only has three open spots left...and so you have the possibility of 38 chicks

the egg turner in my bator will hold 42 chicken eggs so i think thats 3.5 dozen...i think the bator would hold more without then turner in but i like have the turner so i dont have the chance of forgetting to turn the eggs
