September Hatch-A-Long!

I candled my questionable egg and to my surprise there is a little baby moving around in it!!! Im so glad I didnt toss it on Saturday. It still looks different from the others but I'm gonna keep it in there and see what happens. This might be weird but I smelled it to make sure it wasnt going bad..LOL!
What fun...let us know..........
I learned my lesson about tossing to early.
Thought my hatch was finished . Got busy and did not get to cleaning out the incubator until day 27.
Thought I heard a chirp and sure enough............when I looked in the window...a chick was looking back at me............

One of my turkey eggs has pipped!!! It's the one with the tiny air sac - I was so worried baby would not find it. Now that there is a small hole I feel much better about him not running out of air.

Mine were shipped and are starting to hatch two days early.

Quote: my own guinea eggs that set on the counter for a couple of days before setting them in the incubator are pipped not due until the 13th

well seems none of my seabrites are gonna make it

there were 2 that I have no hope in but still wasn't sure enough to toss! 6 cream legbars , frizzle silkies and my own guineas are in the hatching bator..
down to 1 turkey out of 5 and 1 peafowl out of 8....none of the others were viable GRRR!!

Glory be this is a great day! Today is our fully half-way mark. We set 41 eggs, 1 was a dud, and I'm thinking another one is as well, laid by the same mama. However, ALL 39 of the rest of them are growing babies. I have 1 though that looks as if it might have 2 babies in it. I'm sure if it does have 2 in the egg means they won't survive right?

My other question is NOW that I know that my quail eggs are viable and due for lockdown 3 days before the rest of the chicks, what do I do? Can I take the 7 quail eggs out of the autoturner and set them on the floor of the incubator while waiting for the others to finish the last 3 days of turning before lockdown? How would I handle the humidity?

Edit: I know I won't combine different breeds that need different hatching times again unless I can figure the staggered hatching I've read some of you can do. Teach me oh wise ones!
