September Hatch-A-Long!

So I believe I have a situation. I have 12 eggs due on the 12 however my kids were so kind to put additional eggs in the bator and I don't know when. Sigh what would be the best way to determine due dates
I would candle them and mark the ones with the largest blob inside. Maybe number them and keep track. Candle them again in a week and check to see if same ones are still larger than the others. Remember that some of the originals might stop or might not have been fertilized. How many days do you think there is between the new ones and ones you put in?

I swear it hit September and the weather got colder and a little rainy. Right now we are having a storm (thunder, lightening, and lots of wind) :( I'm really hoping the power doesn't go out! Especially since I have 9 duck eggs in the bator only a few days away from lockdown. Please be nice weather please oh please oh please! :fl I don't wanna lose my babies!

Today is officially the first hatch day of my staggered hatch and I have 2 of 3 already fluffy and running about. :D One is my tiny homegrown banty chick and the other is a huge RIR x chick. Hope the big guy doesn't trample my little one. She has a day head start though. The last egg I could never see any development in but since I couldn't see through the blue shell at all Ill give it a couple more days just in case. Next babies are due next Thursday but I hope they hatch early since I will be going out of state Wednesday...

I am guessing by what they said a week old. My eggs due on the 10th I just opened 3 that are unfertilized. I have a rooster with 12 confirmed hens and I am on my 2 batch of eggs. That is appearing to be unfertilized. I have seen him do the deed. But I don't know his exact age as he was given to me. He cock a doodle doos as his should but sounds funny.

This is my boy doodlebug. Any suggestions I am about ready to give up on hatching my own eggs

coffey~ can you isolate your roo with the hen you have seen letting him mount? hopefully she is a good girl and lays for you regularly! then check for fertility on one of hers. if they arent fertile he may be shooting blanks :/

I'm so jealous of all you hatchers! What do you do with all of the chicks you guys hatch? My hubby is being stiff on letting me have an incubator because he knows what comes out of them.. more chickens! LOL! Any suggestions on how to justify MOREEE chickens for me? Apparently eating the eggs and selling the extras doesn't count.
Lol

Oh I hope that isn't the case. Sadly his favorite is an older girl who lays very porus eggs I will try to see what happens if not I believe one of my leghorn is looking kinda rooish how old do they need to be before it is 100% roo
