September Hatch-A-Long!

I don't want to risk it but I'm trying dry incubation this time and that means very little to no water in the bator and if their not checked everyday the water and the humidity goes down below safe levels and I will be down here to check her chickens but not every day so I'm torn because it will only be day 3 tomorrow and I don't want to mess with them maybe I will have her check the humidity before they leave sat morning and if need be add a little water and that should get me through till sun I don't know what to do I don't want to be worried about them all week especially if I can't get down here so I may just have to drive very fast

I think you can manage to figure out how to manage the heat.
It is the eggs getting shaken up that would concern me the most..........

Just catching up and saw some adorable pic's....I was really behind so I'm not going to try to go back to quote them all! Sorry for the losses...it the worst to wait that long and lose a baby. Today is day 7 of incubation for my 11 muscovy duck eggs....all but 2 are veining, but it is still early so I will check them again on day 14. Happy hatching all!!!

I'm even worse, I'm just going to ditto you!

Candled the 18 in the 'bator last night. One def clear, tossed it. One is probably an early loss, but I tucked it into the corner just in case. The rest look to be okay to hatch on the 15th.

And I so need to get some 'sovy ducks (and some Cochins LOL)

there in an auto turner with the spikey things that cradle the egg so I don't worry about them falling out of the turner I will just have to drive carefully where I know there are bumps and I have a car jumper battery pack I can plug the bator and tuner in for the way home

I don't screw anything up

my eggs have all pipped. there are beaks and combs sticking out of the eggs. :)

it has been this way for 12 hours.... how much longer !!!!!!! doing something?

there talking to each other. and breathing. but not moving. and definitely not going fast enough --lol

my yolkster died :( he peirced his yolk sac this morning.
my other early bird is dry in some spots. she doesnt walk much and cant hold her head up for long. but she has pooped. and she picks at the other eggs.

should she be moved? bc she was early should i be worried yet, that she is so slow? i have been giving her water, with honey and water with sugar.

i just literally had two hatch in about 5 minutes :)
the one is trying to walk and i think his foot is curled.. the other one is walking around. there sleeping near each other.

3 out , 3 still in.

Some of my eggs have started hatching...exciting times! Three have hatched so far, hopefully I will wake up tomorrow to more!!
