September Hatch-A-Long

First one out is a roo. Second a pullet. The rest will have to wait until morning as I'm beat from a long day......

(I was right that it was a roo making all the cheeping racket at dawn this morning!)

Oh, too funny! I cannot give you the sexes adequately until they dry off and true colors emerge.... Game still on hold! Not so sure the roo is a roo at this point....

Well shoot!! thought I was a shoe in for winning, I always have one im unsure about lol

I decided to candle a day early, I have an awesome little light and can see into those eggs well enough to tell if there is life going on.... started with 56 eggs, lost one the other day ( dropped it) and just removed 14... clears, quitters and some double yolkers .. I am left with 41 it really good shape, 16 EE eggs that are quite lively!! very happy right now and the most I have attempted to incubate... temp are rock steady at 101-102 and the room humidity is around 52

Sounds like you have it under control! Now it's just the waiting that's the hardest part.....

Okay. The 3rd to hatch out is a definite boy, the first two girls, and number 4 is zipping as I type. Happy little peepheads, happy human chick mommy.

And the finally tally on the RSL 4 chick sex guessing game is...... 3 girls and a guy!

Congrats to Lauraschicks, Cream Puff and VA Raptor. And honorable mention to American Mom as one of the chicks could've been easily confused but upon drying displays the faintest bit of red tinge. I'll probably name her "Pat."

("Pat" is a Saturday Night Live reference)
