Serama eggs from Castle Delight Seramas

Quote:
Rita, the majority of all my Serama eggs have always hatched on Day 21. I've had a few hatch on day 19, but that is a rarity for me. I incubate my Serama eggs just like any other chicken egg too.

Incubating along on day 14. Three (2 Thaddeus and a Zephyr) are
all taking up most of the egg and moving around. The other
Thaddeus egg is so small, much smaller than the other eggs
and the chick is much smaller proportionally than the others
I can't imagine that it'll be ready to hatch at the same time.
I guess we'll see next week.

Yay!!! Yes, my Thaddeus egg that hatched was so small too...the chick is still tiny but healthy! She is the daughter (I'm pretty sure it's a girl) of Thaddeus and Chantilly...beautiful black frizzled feathers laced completely in white

Most of mine hatch on Day 21 and 22....I would candle them if I were you by the end of the day...put a towel over the incubator and open it quick. That will tell you what is going on inside. If they haven't pipped externally it will be fine to do this

Hello!

I'm a new member at BYC but I've been reading through the forum for a couple of years now. I finally decided to become a member because of this thread. Laura let me buy a pair of her babies from the June batch a few months ago (my first seramas) and they're quickly becoming my favorite pets. I've been pretty lucky in the pet department--most my animals are extremely friendly and well-behaved, but my serama pair are quite the source of entertainment.

Here they are a week or two after I brought them home on my 12y/o Golden named Buddy (all the chicks I've raised love to roost on him):

My little rooster I named Boots. I have trouble coming up with female names, so she is still the unnamed hen. They are 16 weeks old now and she has not started laying yet, so I've been checking compulsively for the past few days. I don't have an updated picture of them on my computer yet, but I will get one shortly!
