What are the first signs to look for? I have 2 chicks that are 2 1/2 weeks (H: 12/2/18) and 1 chick that is 1 1/2 weeks old (H: 12/10/18). I am praying for pullets. Are there any early signs to watch for?

OK, we got some pix. I'm thinking pullet for twin 1 and Pansy, and cockriel for twin 2. What do you think?
FYI: Twins 1 & 2 are 2/1/2 weeks (hatched 12/2) Pansy is 1 1/2 (hatched 12/10)

The earliest I can tell the sex of any chicks is 21 days. Yours are just a tad early but twin 2 is looking suspicious at this point for male. Wait another five days and post again. Very very early for the third chick Pansy but I would bet on her being a girl, just a hunch.

In terms of signs the comb will be larger and start to pink up at around three weeks if its a cockerel. Often tiny reddish lines will grow and then turn into wattles early, whereas girls don't usually develop their wattles for months. Also with seramas girls tend to have much more uniform colouring and with light brown coloured chicks will be a more even, if speckled, design of wheaten or buff. Boys will have more irregular colour patterned feathers as they grow in.

Thanks, I was also looking at the difference in the side feathers on the twins. Twin 2 has longer wing feathers and twin 1 has rounder shorter ones. I'll post more pix in another week. If I end up with only 1 roo out of the 3, I will consider myself lucky!

Pansy is just too darn sweet looking. She has to be a girl!! lol
