So I have one hen 18 months ish old, pretty much in a constant state of broody. I can break her for about 3 maybe 4 wks and she starts trying to go broody. I use a rabbit cage up on 2 cinder blocks usually takes 5 days maybe 6, and in about a month she's back at it again. Am I doing something wrong or do I just need to let her hatch some? Seems like this got worse once we let her hatch some back around March.

My broodies have never been that persistent. It will also depend what breed she is because some breeds are prone to broodiness more than others. You could try putting eggs under her but my guess is she will eventually go broody again.

Unless you WANT more chicks, keep breaking her! I have a hen that has gone broody 2x since April. She hatched 2 clutches of chicks and soon will wean from her second batch......I pray that she is DONE! :he No more chicks!

She's a mutt, actually looks more EE minus the cheeks, all white minus a grey patch on one side near her rump, used to be 2 distinct spots which she earned her name 2 dot.

But I also had 2 other hens decide to go broody right before her, so im wondering if that set her off. Both hens were her age

Keep breaking them or get rid of them.
Had the same problem this year, let her hatch in March,
and have broken her 6 times since...
....and she's broody clucking again the last couple days,
so thinks she's ready to go again.
I have someone who wants her tho...good riddance!
