Seriously? The ER? For that?

That's the key to being seen. Do not clean up the blood.

I started spitting up blood a few days after my tonsilectomy. It looked much worse than it actually was. The person in chargehad me sent back immediately- paperwork could be filled out later. The other patients were not to see me yacking up blood. I could tell by the look on one guy's face that it was upsetting him.

I don't think I'll ever move. We have 2 great hospitals with great ER's we can go to. Never more than 4 or 5 people in the ER. Always single beds for overnight stays.Of course they serve 2 prosperous communities. We live in the country but are about 30 minutes away.

What a bunch of horror stories.

That's socialized medicine. It is the worst way to go for everyone. Some pay huge fees for their medical care so others can have theirs free. To me that is theft.

My friend who has insurance, had a serious medical problem. After her surgery, she was sent home the very same day & suffered a lot with worry, pain & infection, while one of her neighbors, on socialized medicine, had a similar problem not even half as bad as my friend, and that women spent 5 whole days in the hospital. My friends bill was very high even with insurance; her neighbor's = nothing.

I personally don't want the government taking over more of our health care in any way.

Let the free market rule & let everyone pay for & be responsible for their own bills.

And for those who are hurting financially, have charities to help them. That way, US citizens can choose to help each other out & given the US citizens' fantastic track record on helping charities, I don't believe anyone would be without the medical care they needed.

Too bad your friend had standard insurance. If she had been on socialized medicine she would have gotten her care free too. Yes we would all pay higher taxes but we would all have the security of health care. To me it's a no brainer. Too bad there are so many people that feel the insurance companies should get fat and happy at our expense. sorry, the charity thing doesn't really work. Too many people are very specific about who they wish to help. The only way charity would work is if it is based on a socialized model. So just have socialized medicine and save the middle man.
