seriously where do i buy quail?

Hi neighbor. What you may wanna try is seeing if anyone wants to split an order with you (try posting in craigslist, or asking at the feed store). Speaking of feed, I think I have chicken feed in my hair again (just brought home 100 lbs).

I wouldn't get day-olds shipped, they die too easily. If you can't find some locally, you would be better off getting a group (1 male, 5 females) and incubating the eggs yourself. Otherwise, I would get some 3-4 week olds.

Baby quail really shouldn't be shipped, they need to eat and drink a lot sooner than chickens, and they'll pile up and squish each other if they are cold.

I second this. I don't sell chicks until they are atleast 2 1/2 weeks old by then most of their feathers are in and they aren't as *dumb* as the babies are. No matter what htey are still thirsty like mad when they get to their new home so just imagine how many day old quail chicks shipped die in shipping because they can't handle it (like shelley said).

eta: I've shipped 3 times so far, only lost 1 chick that got smooshed in shipment (if I remember rightly) shipping my 4th here in a few days

Well if I do incubate them what do I do when they hatch? Do I do the same thing I would do when the day olds are shipped to me?

I wouldn't have a problem after incubating the 150+ African Sulcata Desert Turtles.
Although reptiles, the concept still stands.

Yeppers you would care for them the same way after they hatch! Have you had several minutes (lol) to check out my coturnix education tutorial below in my signature? It'll give you the run down on most of the questions asked (and not asked) about coturnix care. Hatching yourself would be your best bet!!!
