I don’t want the op to use hydrogen peroxide though. I’d rather her use gentle soap and water or an antibacterial soap.

I agree with what you said and that’s what we would have done but she was in bad shape. It was the only option we had at the moment, but I wouldn’t advise anybody else to do the same without taking caution because it could cause pain for the chicken.

Dawn dish soap? Omg that’s gonna hurt her

Dilute the soap in warm water, she is already pretty hurt, and sponging warm soapy water to clean her wound will not make it worse. The bacteria needs to be cleaned off. These folks have been there and done that, so listen to them so they can help you, okay! They save chickens all the time.
