set eggs 2/5/11 due 2/25/11 anybody else?

Well I guess I posted to soon. The kitten (10 Month old) was laying on top of the incubator watching through the window when I came in from feeding this evening. He often lays there because it is warm. I went to see what he was looking at, thought maybe one of the eggs had exploded since this is day 20. There was one little guy walking around in there, not saying a thing.

I just went to check how dry he was and saw at least 4 more.

Guess these were just slow guys. Temp and humidity stayed perfect this hatch, which for me was a first!

I will take pics when I put them in the brooder! DH isn't home so he doesn't know yet, he was very bummed today when there were no chicks this morning.

Congradulations! Maybe you should place a big basket in the bed with all the little chicks and surprise him.

DH just came home and looked in the incubator

He says "Hey there are babies in here, I can see 7 of them!"

I was down stairs didn't know he was home. Pics coming soon!!

Last 2 didn't hatch, cracked them open, both had died before absorbing their yolks
Total: 18/29 (7 clear) +1 that was cracked after shipping
7 EEs from Altchick
6 from my hens(2 leghornX, 2 cornishX, 1 gameX,1 dorkingX)
5 from a friend( SLW over BuffOrp? and poss 1 pure SLW)

Have 37 set to hatch March 17:
12 store eggs
7 from my 'fuzzy' pair
16 from my other hens
2 OEGB(or maybe Guinea) from a friend

well I woke up to find 3 more fuzzy butts...to make a total of 4 and have 3 more pipped today is day21....the one with the foot sticking out still hasn't hatched out starting to get worried

......it is still moving once in a while and i can see the beak breathing UGH....hope it will be ok while i am at work today!

There are 12 little fuzzy butt Quail running around in the brooder!!

DH is beside himself

we had checked two of the eggs Friday and they appeared to have not been fertile,

I just figured the rest were the same way since no one had hatched, we decided to leave them until today (Sunday) when I would have time to clean and disinfect the incubator.

The 3 I put under the broody are doing great.

The 3 shipped eggs haven't hatched.

Gonna shut down the incubator later tonight and crack them and see how far developed they are.

March 20th I'll be setting more eggs of my own eggs. By then, they will have been separated long enough for me to know who belongs to who for sure.

How are yours? How many are you up to now?




Will any of you guys be setting more eggs around 3/20?
