Set eggs 3/5. Looking for others to hatch with!

my last 3 eggs hatched a day early..wondering if my temps are high or just cuz they are banty eggs..d'uccle's to be specific..the barred rock eggs weren't fertile :(

Mine all hatched a day early too, but are EE's. My bantam cochins hatched at day 19 when I had them, and they were under a broody so I don't think it's high temps.

All 5 chicks are done hatching.

They are in the bator resting and fluffing up. They are so much darker than I expected for Easter Eggers.....Maybe they really are Ameraucanas? I'll take a picture of everyone when they dry off better. They are sort of spread out around the incubator so it's hard to get a group shot.

Here is a picture of the first one out, though...........

Cute. Are they all the same color? Mine are 1 blue, 2 black, 2 reddish chipmunks, and 1 light cream with darker spots. They were from a flock of EE's and ameracauna's running together so some could be EE, some could be half amer., some full. Have no idea how to tell, lol.

Well, even though none of my chicks hatched, I still ended up with something. I just picked these up from our local feed store.

Two ducklings and two chicks. Trying to come up with some names for them.

What kind?

Here's my proud momma and her EE chicks.

One of the ducklings looks like a khaki campbell (they were assorted), the other duckling might be a welsh hairlequin. The yellow chick is a white leghorn, and the red one is a Rhode Island Red.

Such cuties! Please, tell me about the thermostat in the brooder.

Usually, I would not have put a thermostat in, but the way the light was, it was too hot. So I didn't know how to get it lower. My dad suggested a thermostat. He's an electrician, so he set it up :D

Wafer thermo switch or hot water thermostat are wired same. Basic switch, black from plug to switch, black from switch to light and white from light to plug.

Decent link for wiring on BYC: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/256697/help-wiring-thermostat

Some drill holes in hot water thremostat to make for less temp range swings. Try a search here on that too, placement to bulb. It's all here to search.
I am talking about the one in the brooder. It has what looks like a regular home thermostat, I can tell you they are very different (all the ones I have seen, with many screws and codes). My incubator has a digital and not in need of replacement. For my brooder I would like to have one like an analog house type, with numbers, because of adjusting week by week.
