Set eggs 3/5. Looking for others to hatch with!

I am talking about the one in the brooder. It has what looks like a regular home thermostat, I can tell you they are very different (all the ones I have seen, with many screws and codes). My incubator has a digital and not in need of replacement. For my brooder I would like to have one like an analog house type, with numbers, because of adjusting week by week.

It is a regular home thermostat, but the brooder is in our garage so rain and snow can't get to it. I watched him set it up, but I wouldn't be able to repeat it. I might have to ask my dad about it...

I don't know if this helps much, but here's what he said. We connected the thermostat to an outlet, and plugged the light into that outlet. So when it get too hot, that plug will turn off. Although, the thermostat only goes up to 80 degrees, so we had to position the thermostat to get it to 90 under the light. To do that, we had to hook it up and play with it a lot, until it got to the right temperature. Then we unconnected it, cut a hole in the wood, put it inside, then reconnect it. Hope that helped a little.

A little... I am wondering if it is just a bi-metal type thermostat. The last time we bought one for the house, it had like 8 screws in the back for the house wires and I would have no clue as to what screws go to what.

They are SO cute.

It's really neat when kids get to experience "life", even if it's a baby chick. By the way, I was up half the night with MY mouth hanging open in amazement. And it wasn't even my first time to see chicks hatch! I hope I never lose the wonder of life.

the onle on the right hatched monday, the other two yesterday..and my two youngest kiddos watched the two hatch yesterday..my 4 yo had his mouth hanging wide open in amazement the whole time...LOL

What kind?

Here's my proud momma and her EE chicks.

Oh, they are just adorable. You have a good variety of colors. I love the chipmunk masks! Is that a frizzle momma? Such a sweety.
Mine still haven't dried and fluffed completely, but 4 are almost black and one is a cream color. Hopefully their coloring will be more varied as they mature.....But it doesn't matter, I'm only keeping one or two girls for their pretty eggs.

I must say, Im dissapointed that I havent gotten an help from fellow BYCer's. I guess Im on my own.

Sorry to hear that, usually everyone is very helpful. If you set them between the 5th and the 9th, maybe give them another day or 2 then candle? I'm still kinda new at this too, sorry I couldn't be more help!
