Set eggs 3/5. Looking for others to hatch with!

No action today but in a few days I am putting in 42 duck eggs any tips?

Wow!!!! Have you got hatching fever, LOL! How many did you end up with?
I don't know anything about setting duck eggs, but if you go over to the duck section in BYC, the people are so nice and helpful. We just bought ducklings a few weeks ago and it went so much more smoothly because of all the friendly duck people on here.
Good luck with them.
Today is lockdown again......I'm running behind and haven't set them yet. I don't have too many, maybe around ten. They are mottled cochins and one lavendar Ameraucana. It's my last Ameraucana egg so I will sprinkle hatching dust on it!
And I sold two silkie chicks tonight. I miss them and I'm worried about them, but they went to a very nice home.

Be patient. Ducklings take their sweet time. More days than chickens to incubate, then even after they pip they can take a day or 2 to zip and hatch out. Other than that, I think they are fairly easy to incubate. What kind are you hatching? Good luck!

I am not sure of the breed yet. I go t them from a friend in school. This will be my first duck hatch and only my second hatch. I will figure the breed out tomorrow and let you all know. After they hatch is there anything that I should do??

Thanks for your support and I will surly keep in touch. You have been so helpful. I will make sure to get some pictures soon.

Ducklings are pretty easy to take care of. Be sure to feed them either waterfowl/duck or gamebird starter, or give them niacin if you feed chick starter or they can develop leg problems I've been told. They are very messy with their water. I'd do a search on here for ideas on how to keep them from playing in their water, I use cottage cheese containers with part of the lid cut out for their water. Have fun with them!

I put six into lockdown today. Will let you know Saturday if it went any better.

Ryan....ducks are messier than you will ever realize and they are so worth it. I look at the ducks and I look at the chickens and I wish I were raising ducks! They may be messier, but so much sweetier. I guess it's not too late yet to change my mind! JulieNKC is right, they are terrible with their water and that is where the work comes in.
8 out of 21 - I need to figure out what I am doing wrong.

Yeah I bought a couple ducks so I knew what I was getting myself into and they are so messy but so cute. I just don't know what breed the eggs are

Well, at least I am not alone in the low hatch rate boat. I cleaned out the hatcher and getting it regulated again.

We have hatchlings! 5 so far 3 more pipping and a few slow pokes. I have a problem though. One of them is different from the others. It's been out now since 4pm yesterday it has moved around, flapped it's wings, peeped, etc. Mostly it just lays there. There was a lot of blood in its shell and it looks like something is poking out of its bottom. Any ideas?
I had one that had the same "bubble" which is a little bit of the egg yolk that still needs to absorb. That chick is now 6 wks old and doing great. I had another chick that had an even larger bit of egg yolk that needed to absorb. Unfortunately it broke as the chick moved around and ended up not making it. But your chicks yolk is so small it should be OK.
