Set eggs 4/6, EDD 4/27 & 4/28...wanna hatch with me??

I posted in the April thread too. I woke up at 4 a.m. this morning, having had a dream that I heard peeping. I went downstairs and heard a peeping from the bator. No pips though. I fell asleep on the couch, and DH got up to go to work and he said, "Ya got a hole in one of your eggs". Sure enough, we have a pip! Believe me, I'm photographing the entire thing. He/she hasn't gotten any further than the pip, and is rocking back and forth. A few others are rocking, but no other action... We're on day 20. We are reading 99 for temp and 65% humidity. Not sure if the humidity is too high, but I have the vent plug open (I have a hovabator 1588)

The chaos in the incubator today:

Jophoto: how are you getting decent photos? I just can't get good photos through the incubator windows what with the condensation, dust, dark etc...

Yay on the pips everyone...

I just saw a duckling peck the element

He must've burnt his tongue.

Think I need to get them out of there and it may mean I have to unwrap the pipped one later though.

Loopy - I have condensation, but I'm trying to get shots around it

I'm a professional photographer, so I have the equipment to shoot in low light (no flash), and with macro lenses. I'll post hopefully the entire egg hatching of the one that has pipped first - it happens to be in the perfect spot between condensation! LOL!

Love the pics

It got COLD last night & when I checked on them a few mins ago, one was out of the nest & almost dead

I shoved it back under the hen, and I'll go check in 30m to be sure it's still under her.

Oh no! I hope the little one is OK...glad you found it!!!

It was a little chilly this morning here, but chilly for TX is not the same as WY...LOL. My chickies were running around the Broody House while Sammie was kicking shavings all over the place...in the food, in the water...ugh

My little babies are mutants! Most of them have feathered legs, orangish color feet with 5 toes! I thought they would all have black skin since mommy is a Silkie...I thought that was a dominant trait. Only the 2 black chicks have black skin. I hope I get at least 1 good looking Sizzle out of those two.

Jophoto - great pics! I didn't get to see any pips or zips here, just fluffy little chicks. Hopefully some day I can get an incubator, it would be fun but nerve-wracking to have that much involvement in the hatching.
