Set eggs 5-12 Looking for hatching buddies

I hear people talking bout the egg carton method for hatching… could some one explain?
You cut the bottoms out of an egg carton & stand the eggs up in the cups with pointy end down throughout incubation & just tilt the cartons or whole bator instead of turning individual eggs. You leave them in the cartons for hatch & it keeps the chicks from rolling each other's eggs all over the place.

Yes, everything should be fine. Mine had to go into lockdown early too. Had 3 to pip before time. So far 8 have made it out and today is hatch day. Good luck. I take both plugs out so they get fresh air.
Thank you.... I took both vent plugs out. Now I'm have trouble with my temp won't higher than 99 I'm shooting for 100.5 on top of the eggs in my still air incubator. What temperature should I be shooting for?

Lockdown tonight. I had a big temp spike when I added more water and got all the eggs situated and ready to hatch. I was expecting some changes though and caught it within about ten minutes. Hope it didn't hurt anyone. I am up late making sure everything stabilizes and I don't cook any of my eggs. When I candled them tonight there were four wyandotte eggs that looked REALLY good, two that looked good, and the rest I am not optimistic about. I am unsure about all of the eggs from my hens. Most are too dark shelled to see anything, and I think some were quitters early on. I guess I will find out in the next few days.
Congrats to everyone with babies and I agree with everyone else, WE NEED PICS!

Aww i love to hear that everyone has babies :) I am in Lockdown as of tomorrow, so crossing my fingers like mad that i get some babies of my own this time!

Well here it is, my real hatch day and have had 6 hatch yesterday! There were 2 more with pips when I went to sleep. One with a big hole. I was sure there would be more this morning, but nooo..... I hope they get busy today, because I will have to take the chicks out tomorrow.

Well, had a good scare! one of the ckicks was on its back? Had to make a quick decision? Take a chance on it dying or comprimising the ones not hatched??? I chose the living! Quickly reached in and got it out with a warmed paper towel and put it in tempoary brooder box. My bator doesn't loose a lot of heat if your quick and recovers fast. So I let it recover a minute and since I had already comprimised it, jumped back in and pulled the rest of the chicks. I took the opertunity to quick glance at the other 2 that had piped yesterday and as I suspected one had died in shell. The other one has still got it's little beak out and moving. Crossing my fingers!!!!!!!

The chick that was upside down seems to have recovered well, and as the rest doing, good in the brooder. I don't know what it was doing, or why, but I dont think they sleep that way? Anyway...... Here's pics.
