Set Eggs August 25, anyone else?

Julie,

Out of the 6 eggs I kept, 4 made it to lock down and hatched! I gave the other 4 eggs (I had 10 total) to a friend and she had 2 hatch. So 6 out of the 10 hatched! Here are some pics of my 4 (there is also 1 olive egger in there).

Thanks again for the eggs, they are so cute! I think I have 1 black and 3 blues? Here are some pics of my 5 chicks so far (1 is an olive egger).

I have a chick, one lonely little chick! Here's a pic:

We've fluffed up nicely since moved to the brooder, this pic was taken in transit!

She/he is a product of a male and female red sexlink, does anyone know if their babies would be sexlinks? This baby is yellow with some darker spots, if it were a sexlink baby it would be a boy.

I have babies! At three a.m., I was woken up - despite two fans and the noise of the fan and humidifier in the incubator - IN THE NEXT ROOM - by cheeping!!! First out was a silkie, second was my Liberace baby - there was some blood/yolk in that one's egg, but so far it seems to be okay. Third baby hatched about noon today!

And another pip in the bator!!!

Yay! I'm so excited to see all the chick pictures, they're all so cute! I still have several more to go. I have a BCM that just hatched, but the membrane somehow is wrapped around it's back and it can't get up - poor thing. I also have a Silver Penciled Plymouth Rock almost out - it's the only one so I'm praying it's a lady.

Let me get back to doing nothing but staring at the bator.

congrats to everyone who has new baby chicks! I locked down a little late, about 15 hrs past day 18...but i think i will be ok. This is my first hatch with a shelf liner on top of the wire floor. I even had to put a separator in the middle of the bator so i can keep my silkies from seller A, separated from my other silkies from seller B so when they grow up i can breed them accordingly to eliminate inbreeding all together.

K2chickens, I did lockdown a little late too - but as of now I have 4 chicks and an egg zipping as I write! Only two eggs haven't shown signs of pipping, but there for a while it looked like the current one wasn't going to do anything either - I think these last eggs got rolled around a lot by the chicks that hatched ahead of them, this recent one pipped on the far side.

And I get to experience this again next week when my MF D'uccle eggs go into lockdown!

Sounds like your rolling along quite well. I just had a pip show up in my own home grown batch of MFD eggs. Early tho....about a few hours shy of day 20.....but i say bring'em on

I haven't been posting for a while since my eggs are under my broody and there isn't much for me to do in the meantime. I didn't know y'all had babies!! Yay! You have given me sufficient motivation to go check on momma and see if I have any early birds (not due til tomorrow).
