SET EGGS JUNE 23 ANYONE WITH ME?

I give up, honestly I do.
It is supposed to be lockdown tomorrow and my incubator has a smell to it sort of like stale river smell....I am hoping its not my eggs smelling, I am already down to 3 eggs

I am going back to just using my Silkie's to brood eggs in the future......anyone in the UK want to buy an incubator

Don't give up. Maybe you can find the stinker and save the rest of the batch. I hope next spring I won't need bators. I want a broody hen.
I just came back from a quick trip to town and my son sent a text saying he smelled something yucky. I checked all the eggs. One by one, I sniffed each one. I can't find the stinker.

No babies yet for me!

And I'm having trouble with the candling part too, so I'm not sure if there's actually any living chicks in these eggs :(

I just can't see anything. It's like a solid black out in the egg...even with my super mega bright LED flashlight...is it too late to see anything? I figured I should still see movement at this point?

We go into lockdown tomorrow and the egg turner is off in the PM tomorrow night.

On day 10 I had lots of movement and growth, I'm just concerned that now I'm not seeing anything...nothing smells, and the temps been pretty consistent so I'm not sure...

Any help would be greatly appreciated...this is my first hatch and I wasn't expecting a huge success but I was hoping I'd at least get a couple chicks out of the 22 eggs in there.

What's the candled egg supposed to look like on day 18?

Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS srd5757!!
Oh! I found something out today! I don't know if it will work but it is worth a try! I have lockdown today so, I was candling to see if anyone didn't make the cut, and I never could see airsacs. A sense of Doom was overtaking me. And then,......all the sudden.....my flashlight caugh the egg at an angle without touching it. AND... I saw airsacs!!! Perfect airsacs. I was in my bathroom with no lights or windows with a small LED flashlight. All of mine made the cut...

I'll try that tonight!

I know that I have 5 eggs that are still clear [1 or which has the blood ring in it, I think tonight I'll toss those 5]

I'm confident that there's got to be a few, considering that the blackness in the eggs keep growing. I just assumed that I'd be able to see movement. Looks like I'll be hanging out in my hallway bathroom [the one with no windows] once it gets dark tonight.

Ohhh! I've got butterflies in my stomach, I'm so ready for these eggs to hatch :D

My friend is going to come over Friday with beer and pizza to watch the hatch [or at the very least, drink some beer!] I need a drink, I feel like I'm not going to survive this hatch, I started off with such HIGH expectations :)

What's the airsac supposed to look like? So I know what I should be looking for. Lol

Since I have seen a lot of peoples eggs start hatching before they go into to lock down and it showed somewhere that after day 15 they do not HAVE to be turned, I decided to go into lock down 1 day early. They all still have movement and I am working to get the humidity up but I am going to sit back and watch. The other incubator is full of 67 eggs until this hatch is over. So I hope it is soon. Don't know if it hurts them being all in there.

I was actually debating whether to lock down tonight rather than tomorrow. If it won't hurt anything, I'm going to do it tonight :D Less to worry about in the morning other than getting the humidity up!

Any suggestions on how to do that? I'm sitting at between 40-49% humidity and that's with the water trays filled...Should I boil water and add some hot wash cloths?

Sadly, I just lost 24 out of 42 eggs set in my bator that was acting up

. I'm down to about 60 eggs that look good w/ a couple that I'm questioning. I may trash this bator instead of selling and putting some else through this heartache. There may be a 'sweet' letter to the makers also.

Well I took out all my infertile eggs and the quitters, I have 7 growing eggs left. 1 silerb lace and 6 gold lace Brahmas. They all look good. These were shipped eggs and the 1st time the box had damage. I guess they got rattled. Nice of the guy to send me some more eggs! Locking them down on Thurs. Good luck everyone, can't wait for the hatchin to begin!

Mine were all shipped also.

Mine were shipped as well, luckily I only had 5 so far that obviously didn't progress. My box was in perfect shape though, I'm so thankful to have a mail lady who doesn't kick my packages up the road to my mailbox!
