SET EGGS JUNE 23 ANYONE WITH ME?

Ok. I've got some eggs rocking and more chirps! I did manage to break my digital thermometer/hydrometer :( when I was filling up the water rings, I aimed wrong and dropped water on the darn thing. I think it came back to life, but I can't be 100% so I guess I'm flying blind right now.

I hooked up my ipod speakers and put on some classical music for them...hopefully it will help them get out of their shells, and classical music is sort of soothing. I want them to have a non-violent birth [maybe it'll make them happier, calmer hens when they grow up.]

I'll keep you updated as the day moves along.

Sorry for all of the posts!!! I'm just so nervous/excited about this hatch :D
Let me know if it encourages them to start hatching. I have some that are not doing anything. My heart has stopped to see all those eggs in there with no movement. 13 with no movement. Yesterday was so exciting and now nothing.

My heart has been in my throat all morning. This chick hatching is nerve wracking business!

No more movement or peeps, I figure that they must be tired. No idea what I'm going to do, my hydrometer seems to be working again, but it's saying 55% :/ Ugh!

3 pips this morning and no other movement out of those eggs since...starting to get a little worried. I have some other eggs that are rocking but the that pipped have not made any other attempts to zip or move around :/

I have a baby!

She's a very eager baby Lavender Araucana....pipped early around 8 am and zipped and fully out at 6pm...she's very vocal and keeps knocking the other egg around the incubator (Brinsea Octagon 10) no pips yet in the other egg.....but then this little one is a day early

I set my eggs June 21 - less than a week later I had a family emergency and was somewhat MIA for a while.

Candled last Friday, out of 12 Barnevelder eggs it appeared we "MAY" only have 3... so I haven't been too optimistic.

Nothing this morning, but when I went home for lunch one egg had pipped and was rocking. I'm pretty sure I heard chirping too, but my husband thinks I'm just hearing things. LOL

Keeping my fingers crossed that all 3 make it... but at least I know we have one!

I just replaced one of the water bowls with a wet sponge. Hopefully that helps get the dang humidity back up. I'm at 57 right now :/

What I find helps them hatch is reading to them. For example, with my first hatch we had two Indian Runner ducklings :) So I read them "Make Way for Ducklings" it is such a sweet book <3 Happy hatching everyone :)
