One chick has pipped a hole! I'm hoping it's only a few hours before he/she zips her way out!

Still nothing here but I think tomorrow is their actual hatch date since I placed then in on the 23 rd at. About 7 pm. Hope it is soon since I am off until Monday.

What I find helps them hatch is reading to them. For example, with my first hatch we had two Indian Runner ducklings So I read them "Make Way for Ducklings" it is such a sweet book <3 Happy hatching everyone

haha too funny. cant be much stranger than me yacking away to a baby starling right next to the incubator though! Here's a wild baby that fell from his nest up on our two story roof. Sweet little baby starling, peeping away madly next to the incubator. Hope this gives the egglestons encouragement! happy hatching everybody <3

Wow! I just had one very exhausting hatching. Not just for the chick but for me too. One of my Jerseys seemed to be wedged in so, when it pipped it's eggtooth never would hit the egg to continue its pip. I broke several major no-nos by helping her out. It (she) just needed a little break in some of the harder places. So, it took her several hours to get to where she could even get a good push to get out. I had to take her out of the egg carton and lay her on the wire so she could stretch to get out. Everything was starting to dry out inside even with the humidity at 75%. I had to interven. I was very careful to only crack the upper part of the shell where she had the largest opening. I didn't want her stuck in there. I may still have to get a warm rag to wipe her off later. She's doing great now. Now, my other 2 pips are working as hard as they can. I should have 2 more in a couple of hours.

My pips still aren't progressing :/ I'm getting a little nervous as everyone else's seem to go from pip to peep in just a few hours. In starting to think that I did something wrong and that there aren't going to be any babies...

7:28 pm I hear little peeps. I am so excited. I might not sleep tonight. e
