Everything looks good. All three thermometers are reading 98-99 and that one wonky one is still reading 101. It's just so weird that it just started acting up today! I guess that's Murphy's Law for you though.

I guess it's all just a waiting game from here on out. I'm considering being naughty and candling the eggs again tonight, I wanted to move all the eggs to be facing the same [x or O] so that I can tell when somebody starts moving. I also want to listen for chirps, even though 18 days may still be early...

And with all the temperature fluctuations today, I'll candle, fill the water rings and then stabilize to a full on [not allowed to touch anything] lock down tonight then.

Still kind of peeved about the thermometer though. lol.

Good idea 3 thermometers but when i used 2 it drove me crazy as the bulb one was always way higher so now just go by the digital Guess its sticking my head in a hole but less stress.

I am afraid to leave the house also.I have worn a path to the bator today.Checked it about every10 minutes. Have a lunch date Thursday and will be worried the entire time i thinkHope it levels by tomorrow
My temps jumped around too today..One minute its 98.8 then goes up to 99.5 then back down I have twisted that heater thing so much its probably worn out.
Dont know how it works. .Its lit at 99.1 and then get it right at the turn off point there 99.1.FINE
Shoudnt it stay there? .NO .later its down to 98.8. Why? Nothing else has changed. Well humidity may go lower but mostly it hasnt either very quickly Dont get it..

So I candled, and added water to the water rings. The incubator is on full lock down now.

Unfortunately out of 17 eggs, I only saw 3 chicks kicking around, the other eggs were black and solid...couldn't see through them...

Do live chicks come from eggs like this? Or only the ones with the U shape at the bottom?

This is our first batch that is making noise. My kids were able to hear it a couple of times. I thought the fan was squeaking in the bator so I listened closer and it was peeping.

I have a stagard hatch so, this batch is on day 19. I worried about getting the humidity up now. I don't know if I need to or not. It's at 64-65%.
