I dont KNOW anything myself from experience much anyway but DO read all i can on here .

If those are the only fluctuations you've had this entire hatch, consider yourself lucky My temperatures have been as inconsistent as Casey Anthony's excuses this hatch and I've got a pip. If I get chicks out of this, then you should certainly get some as well. Lol.

I was up all night as well, temp stayed between 98-100, I've learned to leave the dial alone. the incubator will correct the 98 in due time, when I mess with the thermostat, I usually end up coming home to 101-102 in the bator and having a mini freak out about it.

I just watched the eggs for a while, and I think one of my partridge silkies is rocking! The egg definitely moved on 2 different occasions and I check to make sure it wasn't me hitting the table or anything. It wasn't! The rocking partridge was another egg that I hasn't seen movement in either so I'm crossing my fingers that I get a good hatch after all!

Ok good. I was really starting to worry!

I got the humidity up to 79-80%, it seems like the wet sponge worked better than the bowls of water.

I've got one more egg rocking, so I'm hoping that the little chick that's chirping and rolling around gets the other ones going [I figure if they can hear other chicks, maybe that will make them want out more or something.]

Just one little baby so far though. He is SOOO pretty. Black with white at the tips of his feathers. Gonna be a beauty.

I am wondering if mine are ok but will be a little late.(Bad to plan for disaster too soon ...)I had the temps from 98.6 -100.2 the whole hatch but more toward the low end of 99.5 Maybe they matured slower? Most seem to have theirs at 99.5-100 the whole hatch,.

I read [a couple different places] that with higher incubation temperatures the eggs will hatch sooner and with lower temperatures they'll hatch later. Maybe yours are a day behind?

Mine weren't due until tomorrow evening at the earliest so I'm hoping the temperatures and fluctuations didn't mess them up too badly.

Primorus pragnatus (Prim for short) is fully free of her shell. Resting now and two more eggs are rocking. I finally got a look at her shell and it looks like she's going to be LAVENDER !!! Hooray!

I doubt I'm going to get much sleep tonight.

Here's a question? When do you take the chicks out of the incubator? How long should you leave them in there?

Anybody have any suggestions about what I need to do? I moved my other 3 to the brooder. Their feathers are still really stiff. I didn't want to rub or wipe to much. I was afraid I would take their hid. Anyway, I'm looking for suggestions for my other pips. I really don't want them to go thru the same thing.
