Set eggs today3/11 Due 4/1 for Easter! 1st ever hatch! Please join me!

i set my eggs on 3/12 around 6:30 Pm so shouldnt today be my hatch day? I can hear some chirping, and have one pip, but its been the same way for about 4 hours since it barely cracked the shell. Humidity is 65 to 70 percent thats ok right? Guess im gonna be staring through my incubator window all night waiting on these guys.

Hang in there ... it took about 24 hours from my first pip til we got our first chick. Then things really start to happen!
Good luck! Humidity sounds ok to me, but I'm no expert.

Ladies----we have a pip........maybe it was a good thing the TSC wouldn't sell me 2 silkies yesterday (although they were DANG cute....still want one).....

UPDATE!! after going to bed last night with only one pip and nothing else, woke this morning to watch my first egg hatch, and having three more piping out of the 30 that i set on 3/12. Will have pictures later... the first to hatch was a standard game and another is piping and have 1 speckled sussex piping. just hope my marans join in. also wish the first chick would quit playing soccer with my other eggs lol

I know! isn't it funny! we turn them so carefully for 21 days, and then they roughhouse in the bator! I think maybe it's how they wake the others up and tell them it's time to hatch!

We had a pip this morning and peeping from Nilla's last egg. Within an hour, I checked on the babies and found an empty egg shell. Our 4th chick has arrived!!!!

Awwwwwwwwww, cute pix! ... now you make me want to try hatching under a broody!!!!!!
Did you have to move her to a separate brooding pen? how long will you keep her with the chicks?

On 3/9 I set 14 shipped Buckeye eggs. On day 18 I candeled and tossed 5 clears. Three eggs pipped and hatched. Today I cleaned out the bator and found that I had 4 quitters and 2 more clear ones. I'm happy for the three that I have!

What are everyone's results? 7/17 = 41% hatch rate on our shipped eggs.

Set 17, tossed 8 clear on day 18.
9 went to lock down and 7 hatched. (2 developed but didn't hatch)

Well, I guess mine really wanted to avoid being April Fools babies because this is what I woke up to this morning:

These are the BCM eggs that I bought from someone on Ebay. I was shipped 6 + 2 extra, so I figured if 3 hatch I would be doing good. The 21st came & went and I was about to give up hope...

I had 3 pips last night. The first to pip is still in the egg, not making much progress. The two others were out this morning & a 4th pip is making speedy progress.

I've never hatched BCM's before- can you tell if they are male or female right away or do you have to wait for them to feather out? I swear the beefy one that was first out is a roo. He's a little tubba-bubba with a pronounced comb already.
