Set our second hatch Saturday 5/12/12

Hi All,

Somehow I missed this thread earlier. I just put my first 15 eggs on lockdown tonight. I am trying the dry incubation method so I added water & candled/weighed tonight for the last time. My % weight loss was kinda high on some eggs...like 21% on one. I hope that doesn't mean i've killed them. The humidity went up to 70% after i put the water in. I've kept my temp right at 100* pretty steadily. I guess if nothing else this hatching eggs thing is teaching me patience

Like you guys, I left my questionable eggs because I do not trust my candling ability (especially thru blue Ameraucana eggs). I hope I don't get any exploding eggs on Saturday.

How's it going? I can only get my humidity up to 80% is that enough? I've got some condensation on my windows so not too worried. No pips yet. Working 7-3 tomorrow so hoping I see something to report soon tomorrow night. Did I mention just how much I hate waiting, lol!!! Night all and keep us posted!!!

As far as I know that is plenty for humidity. I will be shooting for 60-70%. I go into lock down tomorrow. Happy hatching!!!!

i think 80% might be too high?? mine is holding around 70% & since i added the water my temp is down to 99* i am trying to decide if i should touch the thermostat at all at this late date....

MyTDogs--I say leave the temp alone! My temp has spiked this morning to 102 and I am all nervous about that but I also know that playing with the temp can be dangerous! The humidity and temp will effect each other. Let it sit for a while and see what happens!

I too think 80% is too much!

We have our first pip!

I made up a paper with the steps to show how to log onto the hatch cam for my daughter to bring into class today. I immediately got a call from her teacher asking if it was alright to share. Something tells me if the chicks start to hatch the school work schedule will go out the window.

Next time we do a hatch I think I will need to start mid week for the class observers.

Well I dont get to see your bator

! I opened it just like the other day but this time it brings up cam 3 and I just see your pop door and a few outside chickens. Help! I want to see pips!!!!

Cam 3 is the main cam for me, I want to make sure that the chickens are in, safe and secured at night. Because of this I set it as the primary view when you pull up the page.

On the left side of the page there is a heading "For Visitors"
Below that there are three boxes for single view and multiple view - the default is single - Coop Door aka/ Cam 3
Click the 4 or 9 cam view - If you double click on one of the cam views it enlarges the view

When using Google chrome it locks out the multi camera view feature. You have to enter ID - chicken & PW - coop then chick the SECOND login for Google or Firefox. Some times you will be prompted to re-enter ID & PW. If you don't see a live video image click "live Video" at upper left.

I was doing it in IE but I am on my phone now and cant get it to work sowhen I am at my computer I will try the direct link to the incubator cam. I love your toys. Lol!
