Set some eggs just now, due date 20th July.... anyone else setting just now? Hatch-Along

10maybe2: I wouldn't give up on any of them just yet. Unless they start to smell bad. Then you would need to smell each one and figure out which one or ones it is. Most of my current hatch I never got a good look inside because the eggs were so porous. But I've got three live ones and one pipping now. I was only ever able to see one of them well. Veins, movement, and all. I counted all the other out but left them in anyway. :) Good luck! And keep us posted!

You're so welcome. I'm glad I could help. You wont find much better information or people than you will here on BYC. These guys (and girls)

have helped me out on so much here. If you can find your way around and locate the board for the state you live in, that could possibly give you local connections for various reasons.

Search for ChirpingCricket, her name is Verna, she is a wealth of information. And if I'm not mistaken she may do ducks as well.

I found another pip! He has pipped on the bottom of the egg. He got part of the shell off but not the outer membrane. I positioned him correctly. He's chirping and moving around in there. He's also pipped a little too low for my liking. Almost halfway down. Of course, some of the eggs had a funny air
A lot of mine pipped almost half way down, but my assisted hatch was halfway. I think this one will be ok, like the article said probably wait 24 hours.. Geez it seems like the late July hatchers are hatching past 21 days! So weird

This is my first hatch and I'm so glad to hear that what I'm seeing is kind of normal. Well, maybe not normal, but I'm not the only one it's happening to. The first three are bouncing around and happy. I'm waiting on the third one hatched to get a little more time in the bator before I move them to the brooder. They're all fluffy but I'm worried about moving them out too soon.
