I borrowed an incubator and filled it up with 60 eggs yesterday afternoon, so today is day 1 for me. I am right behind you.
They are mixed breed and purebred - Gold Laced Cochins, GLC X Australorp, GLC X Ameraucana, GLC X RIR.
I get the eggs for chicken sitting another BYC member's flock and she lent me her incubator and said "Have at it! Eat what doesn't fit in there."
I just need to give her some GLC X Au when they hatch. The rest are mine.
I am not sure of the dozen that I held for 9-10 days - maybe they'll hatch, maybe they won't. I was scrambling to build my own incubator and some parts were hard to find. The eggs are definitely fertile and I can't wait to see what hatches out!
I figured in for a penny, in for a pound. Fill the thing and see what hatches.
Maybe I should have started with somewhat less than a full incubator? I tend to get carried away.
