Setting 43 silkie eggs at 11 anyone with me * PICS*

I have 32 eggs under 3 silkie hens. one hen should start hatching this weekend. they are all white.....waiting and listening for cheeps

sorry i have not posted in a few days been very busy with our new goat. all is looking good so far temp and hummidity doing good i will be candling in the next day or two i usually like to wait to day 10 to candle but i am thinking of candling a few tonight or tomorrow just to see where we are at then on day 10 candle again and trow away any duds. by now i should be able to see some veins. but will not throw away till day 10. i am hopping to get a good hatch so this one will be the last till next spring. last time i did silkies i got 3 out of 12 eggs to hatch now that i have 43 i should have a great chance to have at least 12 or more hatch hopefully

I just candled my eggs, I know its early but couldn't wait. I have 18 Catdance silkie eggs 13 are for sure good, 4 look maybe clear but its early so going to wait on those and 1 a blood ring. The auction I won was for 12 and she sent me 6 extra

well i candled out of 43 silkie eggs 34 are doing good would have been 35 but one had a blood ring will candle again in a few days and recheck. everything looking good

Reading all your posts about hatching eggs has really made me want to try it!!!!
Unfortunatly I will have to wait until spring at the earliest unless I can get a hen to go broody over winter
and 1 of the silkie chicks I have ordered ends up being a nice quiet roo that I can keep......

Otherwise no rooster and no fertile eggs.

I feel good about this hatch. My last one was such a dud.

i hope all make it and hatch and that the 9 were the only ones that do not make it want to start breeding them when they are old enough to sell there eggs for hatching i have a few older ones but i can not get a pic of them that looks good because there crests are nasty from food and dirt it has been raining of and on for nearly 2 weeks now so everything is muddy and they are crazy enough to go get in the rain i will have all colors. white, black, blue, splash, painted only one egg so far of the painted and it is developing, buff. now i just will have to wait to see how many hens and roos i get of each color and then try to figure out how to keep the different colors separated i am thinking of getting rid of my LF chickens and using there coop for some of the silkies. i can not wait to see them. my kids are upset because day 21 is a school day
