we killed a possoum and a mamma coon ran out of bullets only had 2 since the gun has not been used in years going tomorrow to get more bullets so we can stake out another night to make sure we get all the culpreits

Our broody is still sitting. She just sits in her trance unless I put scratch right on the edge of her nest box, then she wakes up and gobbles it down. I would love to candle the eggs, but don't want to disturb her. Hopefully all is well under here. We're finally getting heat, and it's so hot in the barn, so I put a fan on the girl. I think she likes it

So I caught Zero going out to eat and dust bathe. We quickly grabbed the eggs and flashlight. All four look the same, just like the pictures of what they should look like. So far, so good! Ten days until

I have gone crazy hatching. I shoulda used those eggs for breakfast, but gave them to a broody. I barley have any eggs to eat I keep hatching.

well no killings tonight but i will continue to sit outside at night untill i get the whole family. not much longer and we will be locking down our incubators and sitting on our hands till they start to hatch then the real fun begins. hubby is building me a new brooder this weekend. i will candle one more time tomorrow night to make sure we are still good and get the bad ones out that could have stoped developing this past week. my daughter is so excited to see them hatch.

Well i have 3 pips so far ad one of them is chirping like crazy i thought we had lost them but was giving them a chance the temp spiked to 102.5 and was not sure for how long since we were gone that day then the other day the incubator got knocked around a little because of one of the dogs thinking he can jump up there with the incubator. i just hope the painted one hatches
