Finally got in my bantam cochin eggs.. So far so good, no broken ones.. Can't wait to start incubating. Should i let them sit for 24 or 48 hours? They arived in 2 days after shipping

I think you are supposed to wait 24 hrs. The one time I got shipped eggs I couldn't wait and put them in after about 6 hrs. I hatched 6 out of 12. Good luck

Yeah the average that you pick up i know is 24 hours so was wondering about ones that were shipped and THANKS

on shipped eggs wait at least 12 hours before incubation. 24 hours is better it gives a chance for the air sac to attach.

My math sucks apparently. I got my eggs set on the first and some how marked it for them to hatch on the 16th... Not sure how that happened. Wishful thinking? LOL
My broody is doing great and i'm tempted to tuck the rest of the eggs out of the incubator under her. I candled them and they aren't doing so great. *sigh* shipped eggs do not always do great. not sure about the 4 under her as she will peck me if i touch the eggs and I dont want to disturb her if I don't need to.

This morning I put them on lockdown... I had two batches in there that i started about 12 hrs apart but I went with the
timing for the first batch. I was afraid that someone might start hatching in the turner while i was at work today.
hope its ok :/...

I've been trying to decide whether to go through all of that or not. What was the worst part of it?
