Have another baby.She hatched at 10 tonight. Have 1 egg left hopefully she will hatch tonight.

thanks Marine. Where in AL are you? The Marans see to have more challenge pipping = they start and then quit. Its been several hours. The hatched chicks rock and roll the maran eggs and jump all over them. We are still at day 20 for the maran eggs.

We live in Arab, near Guntersville. If its only day 20 Id let it go a couple days and see what it does on its own before I'd worry about intervening

Yesterday we had 15 chicks hatch out of 16 eggs

. This was our first hatch so I was very excited

. We put all the chicks in the brooder and have one lone egg in the incubator still just incase. what are the chances we have this long of a straggler? All the chicks hatched between sat morn and sun morn days 20 and 21. Today is day 22.

we have 11 moved to the brooder, two hatchlings in the incubator, 2 pips, and 6 more to go. Barred rock roos over Buff Orpingtons (llittle yellow fluffy butts) and a maran/barred, and two lavender Orpington Barred rock crosses - too cute.

So cute! We have a lot of snow and roads are closed. I have everything but chick feed. Eek! How long can they go after hatching without food? I haven't seen any pips yet, but they were set at night so today is day 19 still.

They are good for 2-3 days after hatch. If you need too you can always take another type of feed like a grower or a multi flock and put it an a blender and crush it up real small or use a hammer to crush it. Layer feed may not be good because of the extra calcium. Just a thought though if you cant make it to the store.

Day 22 no chicks for me incubator (brinsea Eco mini) has died. not heating.Am upset I just got this in November.second attempt 0% success. only one egg(of 3) had started to develop,but died early. I was unable to see into them. because they where very dark. need to find thread to find out what i am doing wrong.

I consider the hatch successful. One hatched. shipped eggs. there are still 4 under the hen. she kicked another egg out. I don't know if i should just simply remove the rest the eggs and leave her to care for her one baby and gain weight. Or let her set on the eggs til she's ready to say they aren't going to hatch.

Yay! One was pipped just an hour ago and now it's all the way out and moving y:
One more pipped. FX for the silkies to hatch. This appears to be one of the light brahmas?
