~Setting chicken eggs Sept. 7th.~

I candled Mon, 2 of my 6 BLRWs have VERY lively babies, i don't think they like that hi-intensity light! 2 have a lot of blood vessels and dark areas, 2...not so much. THey're very dark shelled-eggs, it's hard to see, plus the air cells are floating, so i don't want to juggle them around tooooo much.

Gonna be a real small hatch...

I candled today and a couple of eggs were quitters. The rest are going strong! Less than a week to lockdown, a little more than a week until hatch day.

I haven't candled and probably won't. Mama gets all upset when you disturb her. Maybe this weekend we will be able to catch her off of the nest one morning and be able to at least see if any of them smell!!

Morning everyone!

Just wanting to check in. 6 day countdown for me here and I am getting very excited! I need some new babies to cheer me up, seems like a lot of 'farm life' grief the last few days, but that's how that goes sometimes....population up, population down.

I presently have 36 eggs in there still that appear to have something going on, so I am

, that the majority put in an appearance.

Have a great day.

4 left under broody. They were all pretty lively when I candled. I looked again last night and it's getting harder to see into the eggs (I have BCM eggs). The questionable 5 eggs, I stuck in the incubator so that my broody could be more comfortable. This is my first time and I am sooo excited! Monday is lockdown. can't wait!

I couldn't help a peek this morning. Definitely two chicks, very active, air space looks appropriate for age. I'm not even gonna count to two till i see fuzzy butts, but i'm thinking these are gonna be spoiled chookies for sure.
