I had a little trouble finding this thread today, I must have over looked it the first time, I was digging through page 6 of threads when I gave up and decided to do a search. Guess I am losing my mind.

I am also glad I put the incubator in a different room so I can't stare at it...

this is going to be a long long longgggg three days....

I am a little late on joining the party! I set eggs on the 28th and the 2nd - I am on day 14 and 10. I set 24 then 12 eggs. I candled on day 7/3 and had to toss 9 eggs. I won't candle again until day 18.

My last time hatching these bantam Cochins, they hatched on day 19. Maybe I should candle on day 17... Just in case, lol!

I will definately keep you guys occupied with the hatch. As of right now I think I will only have 1 hatch Sunday, we think it is going to be a RIR but we cant be positive since our friends have their hens and roosters mixed right now. Im so glad to have support and friends to help with the hatch. I am already in love with the little fluffy butt, the best part of my day is when I candle and get to see it move.

Ok, for those that are ahead of us...best get some pictures taken and put on here pretty quick. We love to see what we have been waiting for! I go into lock down this come Tues.

As soon as the little one starts to show itself I will begin the photoshoot I promise! I feel like a new mother to a human baby. This is all I have been talking about for weeks now, good thing my BF has accepted my crazy love for chickens or I may have been committed awhile ago. =D

So Im pretty upset right now. I have been fighting with my incubator to keep the heat up everybody since I started lockdown. It has been as low as 95.7° but is sticking to 96-97° and I cant get the darned thing to hold any heat higher than that. The humidity is sticking to 65-70% so I dont know what to do. I have a feeling my little egg isn't going to make it. I'm trying to find a new wafer heater but it wont do me any good for this hatch. I have more eggs in the bator that are 2 weeks behind the egg in lockdown and the way things are going, I'm going to lose them too. I had the incubator running consistently for a couple days before I put any eggs in and it was still doing great until yesterday. Does anyone know if there is a way for me to try and get the heat up to normal without replacing the wafer? I don't have a broody so unless something is done quickly, my first attempt at hatching will be a total fail. :(
