Hopefully i will be getting some more turkey eggs in the next week or so.
I have a couple chicks already that are only two Weeks old so I think my new little guy or gal should do fine

yes I changed my username but am well known as silverfox0786 on other forums

I kept the avatar for that reason and also got it in my siggy

cant believe my incompetence caused me to loose 13 eggs how stupid can I be

I brought a 2012 model Brinsea last year so it was only a few months old, the seller said he used it only twice

so I thought it was a bargain and brought it

well i didn't even open it i just dumped it in the loft

i took it out this year and cleaned it with wipes and started it up

after i lost my batch i investigated the incubator and found that the fan was blowing far too cold so the heating element would get hot and loose that heat too quick

i was going to order a new element and fan but found they where running fine just was a bit stumped as to why

the humidity was taking too long to stabilise and i remember that was the fan being wrong way round but the fan was installed correct

so i decided to dismantle the incubator and check each part one by one

as soon as i grabbed my tool kit and went to open the first screw i was the problem

The previous owner brought it new and used it with great success, he then opened it up and cleaned it and went to start a second batch that batch failed for him so he decided to sell it which says he used it twice

what he did after he cleaned it was put the fan grill on upside down so causing the air to flow incorrectly and the temp was not stabilising

i put the grill on properly and switched the incubator on and yay is working perfect again

what a douche

not seeing much activity is everyone ok with their hatches


6 more Cream Legbars hatched on 25th May from Sue Line
1 OEGB x Pekin Hatched 26th May

5 Asil Eggs Due tomorrow 29th May

and another 4 Cream Legbars Due 30th May-1st June (Staggered Hatch)


oh and I did get the Octagon 40 incubator £485 Worth

This next batch I'm hatching is doing way better as far as growth so far out of 40 eggs only 6 are duds at this point z
