DD- if you think setting eggs makes time slow down... waiting for a pip to zip can feel like time has stopped!! It's so hard to just sit on my hands!
I was thinking of fencing off one of the nest boxes from the rest of the coop and put her own water and food in the fenced in area. Then she gets her nest box, she can only use one box, has room to eat and poop, and ther other chickens get the other 2 boxes. When/if the chicks hatch I will have to move them to a new coop.Ack! That sounds terrible Pat! Maybe you could block off 2 of the nest boxes so she can only get into 1, that way she will always come back to the right one? Duct tape a board or something over the openings of the other two maybe... But you're right, the eggs probably aren't good unless it's really really hot where you are
